This Privacy Policy explains how Decor Pause (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://decorpause.com/ (the “Site”). The public contact email is hi@decorpause.com.

Please read this policy together with our Terms of Use. By using the Site, you acknowledge this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Decor Pause publishes original articles about home decor, interior styling, small spaces, and calm living interiors. We are a content website. We may display advertising, including Google AdSense, and we may use analytics tools to understand how the Site is used.

We do not operate a storefront on this Site, and we do not currently run an affiliate program.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Contact email. If you write to hi@decorpause.com, we receive the address you use, the content of your message, and any attachments you include. We use this to respond and, where relevant, to correct or improve the Site.
  • Comments. If comments are enabled on the Site, a comment typically includes the name or display name you provide, your email address (which may not be published), the comment text, and the date. Your IP address may be stored with the comment as a spam and abuse control. If you leave a comment, a cookie may be saved so that your name, email, and website (if any) are remembered for later comments.

We do not require an account to read the Site.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting environment and standard web logs may record:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Referring URL
  • Pages viewed, date, and time of the request
  • Approximate location derived from IP (city or region, not a precise street address)

This log data is used to operate the Site, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and understand traffic in aggregate.

2.3 Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. The Site may use:

  • Essential cookies needed for the Site to function (for example, remembering a commenter's details if comments are enabled, or a cookie-consent choice).
  • Analytics cookies if we use Google Analytics or a similar tool (see Section 4).
  • Advertising cookies, including cookies set by Google and other third parties in connection with Google AdSense (see Section 3).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site or ads work.

3. Google AdSense and advertising cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this Site and other sites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information and to personalize advertising.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org/.

We do not control the cookies or other tracking technologies used by Google or other ad partners. Those parties' policies govern their use of the data they collect.

4. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics (or a comparable analytics service) to understand how visitors use the Site: which pages are read, how people arrive here, and whether the Site is working as intended. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as how often users visit, which pages they visit, and the sites that referred them.

This information is generally processed in aggregate. Google may process the data according to its own privacy policy. Where available, we may use IP anonymization or similar controls offered by the analytics provider.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Decor Pause does not currently participate in affiliate marketing programs and does not earn commission from product links on the Site. If we later add affiliate links, we will update this policy and disclose the relationship on the relevant pages in a clear way.

6. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Respond to messages you send us
  • Moderate comments and reduce spam or abuse, if comments are enabled
  • Measure readership and technical performance
  • Display advertising, including personalized or non-personalized ads through Google AdSense
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use
  • Protect the Site, our readers, and our operators from fraud, security threats, or misuse

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Sharing of information

We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Hosting, email, security, analytics, and advertising partners (including Google) process data as needed to provide their services.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Site.
  • Business transfer. If operation of the Site is transferred, relevant data may transfer with it, still subject to this policy or a successor policy.

We do not sell mailing lists or commenter emails.

8. Data retention

  • Server logs are kept for a limited period needed for security, debugging, and traffic analysis, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Contact emails are kept as long as needed to complete the conversation and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, then deleted unless we must retain them for a legal reason.
  • Comments (if enabled) remain published until you ask us to remove them, or until we remove them for moderation, legal, or operational reasons.
  • Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the settings and policies of Google and other providers.

We do not keep data longer than we have a legitimate need for it.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is a general-audience home-decor publication. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at hi@decorpause.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. International visitors

The Site may be hosted and accessed from more than one country. If you visit from outside the country where our systems are located, your information may be processed in a country with different data-protection rules than your own. By using the Site, you understand that this transfer may occur as needed to operate a public website.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete information we hold, subject to legal or operational limits (for example, we may keep a record of a legal request)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing was based on consent (this does not affect processing already carried out)

To make a request, email hi@decorpause.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and enough detail for us to find the relevant records. We may need to verify that the request comes from the person concerned. We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any event within the period required by applicable law.

You can also control cookies through your browser and the advertising opt-outs listed in Section 3.

If you are in a jurisdiction with a data-protection authority, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with that authority.

12. Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect information we hold. No website or email system is completely secure. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or highly sensitive personal documents to us by email.

13. Links to other sites

The Site may link to third-party websites, including manufacturers, retailers, and reference sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy does not cover them, and we are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. The current version will always be posted on this page. If a change is material, we will try to provide a reasonable notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
