This page explains how Decor Pause corrects mistakes and updates published how-tos on https://decorpause.com/. It works with our Editorial Policy and Contact page.
Email corrections to hi@decorpause.com. Include the page URL, what the page says, what you think is wrong, and any source we should check.
What counts as a correction
We treat these as errors we should fix:
- A wrong measurement, conversion, wait time, or weight limit
- A method that does not match the keep-versus-skip table on the same page
- A broken internal link, a wrong product class (for example calling a hole-making hook “no damage”), or a missing renter warning
- A photo or caption that does not match the step it sits next to
A difference of taste is not an error. If you would hang a gallery wall and we would hang one large piece, that is a method choice, not a correction, unless our numbers are wrong.
What counts as an update
We update a guide when the method is still sound but a detail has moved: a typical sofa width we use as an example, a wait time on adhesive strips, or a tool we now skip. Updates keep the original URL. We do not move a how-to to a new address just to make it look new.
How we mark the change
- We edit the live page.
- We add a short note on the page when the change would affect what a reader does in the room (for example a size, a wait time, or a skip). The note names the date and the change in plain language.
- We update the “last modified” date on the page.
- We do not hide the old mistake by deleting the article. If a guide is no longer safe to follow, we add a notice at the top and point to a better method, or we unpublish it only after that notice has been on the page.
How fast we respond
We read every message sent to hi@decorpause.com. We aim to acknowledge a reported error within two business days, and to fix a clear factual error as soon as we have checked it. If we need to re-measure or re-test a step, we will say that in the reply instead of guessing.
We may not reply to anonymous drive-by comments that do not include a URL and a specific claim.
What we will not do
- Quietly rewrite a how-to so the error never happened
- Leave a known unsafe method up because it is ranking
- Pay for a correction to be withdrawn
- Argue taste when the numbers are wrong. If the inches are wrong, we change the inches.
Readers
If you used a Decor Pause method and the result did not match the page, write to us. Tell us the URL, your room constraint (rental, texture, paint age), and what happened. That is how a measured how-to stays honest.
This page is for published Decor Pause guides. It is not a legal complaints process and it is not a promise that every room will look like the photograph.
